The ENSE Sport Summit, which took place in Aarhus, Denmark between September 12 and 14 2017, was an unqualified success.
A group of 240 participants from over 24 countries took part in the event and many late registrants were even turned away due to the event being at full capacity. Over 20 presentations combined both theoretical and practical approaches to sport education, allowing participants to connect with new ideas and inviduals.
In the end, "the combination of several organizations working in different areas of sport and their networking combined with areas outside Sport can create a spinoff – with new ideas, new angels, new inspiration" said Event Organizer Jens Behrend Christensen
Highlights include Agata Dziarnowska's presentation on the European Week of Sport, Marc Theeboom's look at sport edcation in Europe and the dual career event on September 14th.
Following the latest ENSE Board Meeting on September 13th, ENSE is proud to welcome Karen Petry as its new president. Officially elected in 2015, she now begins her two-year term as ENSE president.
Karen Petry is Deputy Head of the Institute of European Sports Development and Leisure Studies at the renowned German Sports University and has been involved in the field of European Sport for nearly 30 years. Over that time, her work has largely focused on the issues of sport education, sport employment and sport-for-development.
"I am very glad about the trust that has been given to me and during my term I would like to implement some innovative European projects in the area of curriculum development. The beginning is the three years EDU PACT project (2018-2020) supported by the ERASMUS+ programme. The aim is the development of modules for intercultural learning in the PE and Coach education in five different countries" said Karen Petry following the board meeting.
At the meeting, Thomas Skovgaard of Denmark was also elected as president for the period starting 2019. In addition, three new board members also join ENSE: Michael Bronikowski, Daniela Caporossi and Susana Carla Alves Franco.
As part of the ENSE Sport Summit 2017, a Dual Career Workshop is being jointly organized by EAS, ESAA and Elitegymnasier.dk. The workshop will take place on Thursday, September 14th 2017 at Ceres Park.
Focusing on Dual Career Strategies in Youth Sport, the programme provides insights into the different asects of dual career planning, presents current best practices and allows participants an opportunity to network with leaders from the sports and dual career areas. Lunch, sightseeing and practical activities are also part of the programme.
This workshop is a part of of the ENSE Sport Summit 2017, and participation is included in Sport Summit fee. Registration for the Sport Summit can be done here.
